How long have you been helping people with their talent and what got you into it?
Over 30 years. Coming from dance myself, and wishing there was more out there to choose from.
What has been most satisfying for you in your journey?
Helping shape a dancers life….not just technically, but as humans.
How did you learn the professional skills you share with others today? Who or what influences played into that?
Grew up in a ballet society. My own ballet teachers as a child and professional teachers who not only taught high quality skillsets, but lessons in life that were carried with me and then handed down to the next generation.
Did you ever feel a struggle to keep going or sometimes want to give up? If so, how did you overcome it?
During those valleys, it’s about digging deep inside and finding that passion that never leaves you; and the support of those like-minded people in the arts.
What are your thoughts on the concept of helping talent learn the spirit of contribution to the greater good and using their talent for good?
Highest priority you can teach the kids…how to utilize their own gifts through contribution/serving others.
Do you have other future aspirations for yourself, your business or training of others?
Serving others in business coaching.
Is there anything our audience could do to help with the above?
Can’t think of anything.
Please share any standout moments in your experience that would inspire other performers.
That dancer winning a scholarship for the first time and receiving the recognition for his/her hard work….watching the never give up attitude/perseverance pay off.
What is your best piece of advice you would give to any talent out there?
Never give up….NEVER EVER EVER if this is what you want in your life. Your No’s are just a person’s subjective opinion that can be your fuel and can be more important than your Yes’s in your life/career. There are no failures, just another experience to prepare you for that breakthrough.
Thanks to all coaches and students for their hard work.
Grab your shirts, hats, phone cases to be a strong team!
